At the day of writting this (April 12th 2024) the shuttle schedule from ADO (also called OCC) has six departures from San Cristobal. Price is 242 MXN per person. Departures are from the ADO (OCC) bus station located on the corner of PanAmerican highway and Insurgentes Street.

Prices might change if you book directly to ADO terminal. Keep in mind you have to get to the terminal to go to the airport. They don't offer hotel pick up service. This bus schedule was updated on April 12th 2024. The company might change their departure times depending on demand.

You can arrange your trip by ADO (OCC) bus company once you are in San Cristobal, too. If you book directly at their office in San Cristobal, book at least one or two days before your flight. Their bus terminal is on the corner of Avenida Insurgentes and Panamerican hight way. Also, this company has a stand in San Cristobal downtown. It is on Real de Guadalupe Street. About 50 meters from the main square.

By taxi:

Getting to Tuxtla Gutierrez Airport from San Cristobal de las Casas is super easy with taxis! Prices can vary, though, depending on which company you choose and the type of car you ride in. On average, you're looking at around 900 to 1400 MXN for the journey. But for a comfy 5-seater with A/C, expect to pay about 1200 MXN, which is a fair deal.

The ride itself spans about 77 km (48 miles), and if you catch good traffic and smooth roads, you'll be there in roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes. Now, how do you book a taxi? Well, there are a few ways:

Public bus or shuttle + Taxi

First off, you'll want to catch a shuttle or bus from San Cristobal to Tuxtla. Most of them depart from the corner of the Panamerican Highway and Insurgentes Street, so head over there. Shuttles usually cost around 60 pesos, while buses range from 45 to 55 pesos. Shuttles are pretty frequent, leaving every 20 minutes or so, while buses come by about once an hour.

Once you're on the bus, and you've made it to Tuxtla, let the driver know you need to get off at the Soriana supermarket. It's right at the city's entrance. Once you hop off, you'll spot taxis waiting and eager to take you to the airport. It'll set you back around 400 MXN, but it's a smooth ride from there.

In total, you're looking at about 1 hour and 30 minutes of travel time. So, if you're up for a bit of adventure and saving some pesos along the way, this route's got your back!
